Marian Ting
I am a 1st-generation Taiwanese-American mental health therapist (LMFT #142809) based in Los Angeles, CA. My lifelong interests and academic background have been in the creative arts, and in 2019 I received a M.S. in Marital and Family Therapy from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena..
After years of wrestling deeply with parts of life that are often difficult to name, like grief, longing, identity, or the quiet ache of not being fully seen, I became a therapist in order to provide others with a safe, grounding space where vulnerable parts can come forward and be met with acceptance and understanding.
Being bicultural and a person of color has afforded me complex life experiences that are ultimately generative, and I channel these nuanced perspectives into connecting with the diverse, unique life stories of others.
Just as supportive relationships are essential to fulfillment at every age, your connection with your therapist can provide the safety and skills needed to establish more lasting mental and emotional well-being. I’ve learned personally that the therapeutic process doesn’t only provide strategies for managing mental illnesses, but also enhances your connection to your own inner healing intelligence.
My work is based on the conviction that everyone deserves attuned relationships where they feel known and accepted, and also gain valuable feedback for growth. Just like starting a painting on a blank canvas, every therapy journey is unique. It requires of us to consistently open our thoughts, feelings, and body to the unfolding process, while trusting in your authentic self to lead the way.
